SUCCESSFUL CAIRNS TOUR

Last week 17 members of the MacKillop Saints Rugby Academy traveled to Cairns to develop their skills, train and compete against quality QLD schools in games of Rugby League. As part of their trip the students played three games, two competitive matches and one exhibition training session against St Andrew’s Catholic College, St Augustine’s Catholic College and Redlynch State College respectively. We are happy to report that of the competitive games MacKillop tied (30 – 30) against Mrs Graham’s former College;St Andrew’s Catholic College and were convincing victors against a strong St Augustine’s Catholic College team (30 – 22). Aside from games MacKillop students had an opportunity to meet NRL Parramatta Eels Coach Brad Arthur, Meet and Greet Kangaroos and QLD Origin star Sam Backo, deliver skills and development sessions with a local primary school and engage in numerous skills and fitness sessions. Congratulations to all Coaches, Staff & Students involved in this wonderful tour!
