In a historic first, the MacKillop Saints have registered their first ever win in Rugby Union 7's. A largely inexperienced U13 Saints team, made up of predominantly Rugby League players, showed commitment and perseverance as they downed a much more experienced Palmerston Rugby Union club team. Excellent performances by DJ Brown and Beau Ryan proved too much as the Saint's scored 3 unanswered tries within the 14 minute match. Of the match Director of Rugby, David Graham said; "this is a wonderful result! Although largely inexperienced, our boys know the standard of play that is expected when they put on a Saints jersey, today was no exception". In other matches the Saints U15's put on a spirited performances against both the Swampdogs and Palmerston sides, however fell short on the scoreboard. There are 2 weeks remaining in the Palmerston Croc's Summer of 7s competition.
