SAINTS MAKE THEIR MARK

The MacKillop Saints have continued their introduction to Rugby Union with a successful display in 7's Rugby.

As part of the Hahn Super Dry Summer of 7’s tournament, the MacKillop Saints fielded three teams to compete for the silverware. In what was a long day in the sun, MacKillop Girls, U17 Boys and Men’s teams played hard against more experienced rival teams and certainly impressed in their commitment and progress. With mixed on field results, our Men’s team, compiled of Alumni, Teachers and friends of the College won through to the Bowl final, narrowly missing the silverware after being defeated after the final siren.

Director David Graham said of the occasion, “Our teams continue to show the Rugby community what the Saints can offer. We’re working hard to establish a real community around our new club.”

Both Junior teams enjoyed the opportunity to train with and subsequently be coached by the Australian 7’s Coach Tim Walsh. This opportunity was extended when Tim joined our girls’ team as de facto coach for the afternoon!

Congratulations to all the winners at yesterday's Super Dry 7's. 20 teams clashed in over 40 games on 2 fields over 8 hours. A big thank you to all the players, coaching staff, referees, live stream operators, score board attendants and volunteers for a great day.
