SAINTS STORM HOME TO CLAIM TOP END SHIELD

The MacKillop Saints girls have stormed home against Katherine High to claim the inaugural Women's Top End Shield.

On Wednesday 19th of September Women's Rugby League took a brave step toward the future by recognizing our fantastic young female athletes with their own Top End Shield. The Top End Shield, played between Katherine High and MacKillop Catholic College turned out to be anything of a dull affair with some big hits and spectacular nail-biting moments produced from both teams.

The game was a high scoring occasion with noteworthy efforts from young Ana Lynch-Malupo and Captain Shanoa Leedie proving to be the difference. The MacKillop girls will now refocus to take aim at the Rugby Union 7's paddock where they will compete in the Hahn Super Dry 7's competition on the 29th of September. FINAL SCORE: MacKillop Saints 28 def. Katherine High 20 Most Valuable Player: Ana Lynch-Malupo
